Closing the Opportunity Gap

A collection of reports discussing civic renewal and opportunity equality for the children of the United States

The Saguaro Seminar research initiative at the Harvard Kennedy School sought to develop and share actions and ideas for civic renewal in the United States, including this 2016 report, titled “Closing the Opportunity Gap”. Groups made up of leading experts in family and parenting, early childhood, K-12 education, community institutions, and “on-ramps” like community college or apprenticeships, worked together to define the opportunity gap, identify major causes, and create active solutions for developing equal opportunity for all Americans regardless of their economic or social situation.
